#MM – Emails to professors sent!

In a belated marketing Monday effort (hey, it was a holiday) I managed to send the email below out to the 12 professors on my list so far.

Do you have anyone to add to the list? Are you a professor that would like an evaluation copy? Do you have ideas for making this email better? Let me know in the comments!

Prof. XXX,

I see that you are teaching XYZ this semester, and I’d like to suggest a book I wrote as a companion text: Making Things Move: DIY Mechanisms for Inventors, Hobbyists, and Artists. If you can send me your address I would be happy to have my publisher mail you an evaluation copy. Have a great semester!

Thanks,

  1. I would love a copy of your book to evaluate for my Design and Engineering class with middle school students.

  2. Hi! Just a suggestion, you need to market your book to art teachers, not just engineering teachers. I am an artist and art teacher and I like to “tinker” and make things move. I have been searching for awhile to find a book like yours, thanks!

  3. I am very intereseted in getting a copy of your book “Making Things Move”. I make huge lawn signs that usually involve lights, sound and motion. Many of them for my family and relatives on special occasions such as Graduations, birthdays, and etc.. I hope your book has some reference to motion devices using gears as well as pulleys and etc..It sounds quite interesting!

I do have one idea that you may be able to add to your site, if possible, that is a video of some detailed mechanical device that you’ve made, or one that has been made from the information within your book. Just a suggestion, but otherwise I think you’ve done a great job with your website!

    Cheers,

    Richard
